The Last 4 and a Half Hours of a 16-Year-Old

I have around 5 hours. After which I won't be 16 anymore.

This is a pre-birthday end-of-the-year post. Cool? Cool.

It's a random and childish thought or a thought that people think at like not being 20 anymore or 30 or 40 whatever. But, I'm getting it now. I know right? Mid-life crisis at 16? LOLX.

Okay so this year has been one of the most nerve-wrecking, heart-breaking, fun, adventurous, life-lesson-teaching, friends-making, life-changing year of my life. But that's just probably every year.

But in this year I learned one important thing. I learned the value of life more than I ever had. I learned to smile more. I learned to be nice. I learned to appreciate the little things. I learned to let some things go. I learned to move on. I learned that regret isn't such a bad thing. I learned if people hate you, it's not your problem. I learned that it's okay to make mistakes. I learned how to accept people for who they are. I learned to not judge people at all. I learned who and what counts.

But of all that, I learned to be a better Muslim. And that too, recently. And I owe it all to that one person who taught me the most this year. You taught me what matters and taught me restraint. Thank you.
And you inspired Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela aur Edhi Uncle. And you saved Gotham City (but you're not batman.) And Jinnah was your apprentice and that was a really good unforgettable time that I just found out about. Also, Mona Lisa was your uglier version and Da Vinci was a bad painter.

These words stick by me and give me a whole new realization

Also, I changed schools this year which was a BIG step. For me at least. I mean. I've studied in Bahria all my life (exclusive of the 1.5 years in amreeka). Roots DHA. The school overall is good. The people... The ones that are close to me are unbelievably good but generally, I miss Bahria. Well not exactly Bahria but the people. OH THE PEOPLE. Well atleast all 7 of you xD But what's sad is the other day, when I went out with Bahrians I felt so out of place with the majority of them that came along. It has more to do with the fact that I didn't know them that much, but I felt not there. I actually fit in more with the LGS-ians.

OH MY GOD. BEST SURPRISE EVER WAS THAT DAY. 23RD DECEMBER. BADAR SURPRISED ME. BJDBFIHSBGIHBDLHGVEHVGERHVURVGV. IT WAS JUST *-* I MISS THAT PATHAN SO DAMN MUCH. I'm sorry about the next day though. I didn't get to meet you. Have fun in Karachi :D

How the Summer reaps on... And so do my words

It's a pretty known thing. All year long you wait for Summer and when it finally comes! You have nothing to do. At all. You just... Laze around and look at your computers screen and make your eyes melt. Is that not what you're doing? No? Oh well okay.

Bear with me as I write about useless stuff. (Yes, I'm a pessimist)

Most of you are out having fun and going to parties and having aftaar and sehri parties while I can't go out in Ramazan mostly because I can't drive. OH LOOK A 16 YEAR OLD HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS LIKE HE CANT DRIVE AND HAS FAKE FRIENDS AND CRIES ABOUT IT! I know, I know. I'm frigging annoying. But... I guess that's just who I am. Don't have any plans of changing anything anytime soon... Except my hair. And clothing. Have been getting a looooot of criticism for being too... Hyper? Enthusiastic? Eccentric? Mediocre? Mediocre. I dread that word to bits. As in one of the greatest movies every made, American Beauty, it is said "All I want is to not be ordinary", that's what I believe. Ordinary is the biggest fear I could EVER have in my life. Ever. Other than the two animals I hate/fear the most... Lizards and Komodo Dragons. Huh. This reminds me I should do one of those cool people 20 facts you dont know about me things. That'd be fun. Anyways back on topic. Ordinary. Just not something I'll ever look forward to.

well this is gonna be a shorter post than I expected. Just two things
1) Can anyone PUHLEEZ go out of the city with me? I need fun plans D:
2) Im such a desperate person ._.

Freak out!

CIEs. They freak me out as much as they would to anyone but I feel like I'm getting anxiety disorders.

I got so frustrated the other day I snapped a pen... That was the first of many. And Chem is on Wednesday... #killme. Senior 2 people shouldn't be crying they have only 3 exams. 6. SIX FRIGGING HAUNTING PIECES OF PAPERS WITH WORDS I DO NOT GET!

Here's what I have done so far

Math: Everything except Vectors and Transformation. Yes, I'm in a good level here

Sociology: Just talk about Marxist and Pluralist and you're good to go but the definitions are tricky :|

Computers: Ha. Ha. What?

English: I get creepy dreams that I'll fail in it.

Chemistry: Im working on it right now... It's meh. Moles and Organic are the main problems and they don't go through my brain. They make me frustrated. 0.00800 mol/dm3. THAT.DOES.NOT.MAKE.ANY.SENSE.TO.MEH! Lalalalalafailing

Physics: I try to do work, I fail, I cry. I DO NOT GET A SINGLE WORD!!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHY THE VOLTMETER IS OUT OF ITS FRIGGING MIND OR WHY THE MAGNET DOESN'T WORK OR HOW A FUSE WORKS IM  NOT AN ELECTRICIAN AND DONT WANT TO BECOME THIS IS UTTER BULLCRAP ONE THAT I HATE AND DESPISE SO MUCH. IF PHYSICS WAS A HUMAN BEING I WOULD PUNCH IT AND KILL IT. NO. WAIT. TORTURE IT MERCILESSLY WITH THE CHINESE AND JAPANESE WEIRD CREEPY WAYS.

WHOEVER IS READING THIS PRAY FOR MEH I NEED IT ._____.

Les Misérables

Official Poster for Les Misérables

MovieLes Misérables

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Samantha Barks
Rating: 9.5/10

*SPOILERS ALERT*

Jean Valjean
The movie follows the years of the French Revolution. I would mention the whole details of what happens after what but that would take too much time. The movie starts with the powerful "Look Down" which really sets a good pace. Although it's hard to keep up with the words that are sung sometimes too fast, but they have their own charm. Hugh Jackman is nearly unrecognizable with the beard and the skinny built he has in the beginning of the film while Russell Crowe keeps his straight face throughout the film. The story is undeniably really good. And the musical numbers adhere with the plot and are so melodious one can't help but laugh along or wipe the tears.
Jean Valjean. Portrayed by Hugh Jackman. The man who was on parole and turns his life around. Hugh Jackman and Daniel-Day Lewis are surely neck-to-neck for the Oscar this time. Although Daniel-Day Lewis has the upper hand (for being Daniel-Day Lewis) it'd be nice to see Jackman win. I didn't know he could sing that well. From beginning to end he is unbelievably good. At the end when he dies one can't help but wipe the tears that are streaming down the cheeks.
Javert

Javert. Portrayed by Russell Crowe. He just spends all his time running after Valjean. He doesn't have any emotion on his face. Maybe that's why the Academy didn't recognize him. His singing seemed a bit monotone ._. But still he did his part well. And died .. honorably? Well it was something but it was good ^-^

Fantine

Fantine. Portrayed by Anne Hathaway. This. This is the reason I was pulled towards the movie. In the trailer you see Anne Hathaway singing I Dreamed a Dreamed. That is what grasps the movie and keeps it going. Fantine is only there for the first 30 minutes of the film and the last 5. Only 1/6th of the movie that is. And just as vital to the plot. Her daugher Cosette is then taken into care by Valjean. Her plead for dreaming why isn't the world the same as it was is emotionally riveting and is, for me, the best part of the film. For her part I give her a 10. And the Oscar is yours Anne.

Cosette
Cosette. Portrayed by Amanda Seyfried/Isabelle Allen (Young Cosette). The illegitimate child of Fantine who dies in the dream of saving her daughter. Cosette first lives as a maid of Monsieur and Madame Thénardier and then bought by Valjean who raises her as his own child. I, for one, liked young Cosette much better and thought she was extremely good at acting. She is the one portrayed in the poster. There should've been more growth of the character though.

Monsieur and Madame Thénardier. Portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter. The swindling innkeepers who steal and steal and steal. They're like the life of the film. And so funny they are :'D And are important to the storyline I guess.

Eponine
Thénardiers
Eponine. Portrayed by Samantha Barks. I have to admit. I can relate to her a lot. Like bohat zyada wala ._. And I cried when she died. She was so good and deserved everything :/

Khair the movie was really good. Everyone should watch it. Keep checking in. Next review will be on Argo :D

Awards Fever is ON!

So Oscars are just around the corner (Actually there is a month and 8 days) but this time I'll voice my views. I have a re-sendup on Friday. Allah kare chutti mil jaye :'D
Oh and from now on I will post reviews on the Oscar contenders and whatnot.

The Golden Globes

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey \m/
It's like an appetizer before the Oscars :3 And are like the mid-point from the Oscars and the Emmys. So it's always fun to watch 'em. I got tired of Ricky Gervais hosting the show and it's good to see that these two brilliant women hosted the show this time. The best line was "I haven't been keeping up with the controversy following Zero Dark Thirty, but when it comes to torture, I trust the woman who was married to James Cameron for 3 years". Amy Poehler aap best ho xD

I was fairly happy with the winners. Although I haven't seen Zero Dark Thirty I am extremely satisfied with Jessica Chastain winning. The Help would've been dead without you and I know you must have done great. Just one thing. I usually don't comment on this magar aap pehen kar kya ai vi thi :/ You looked like bartonon ko dhoney wala saabun ._.

Jessica Chastain people.

Moving on. I'm watching Les Miserables as we speak and I'm happy that Hugh Jackman won and even more delighted with Anne Hathaway winning. More on the movie in the separate post :3
Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrel \m/
The best part was the presentation by Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell. I haven't laughed like that in days :'D
I found it nice when Taylor Swift gave a standing ovation when Jennifer Lawrence won for Best Actress in a Leading Role - Comedy or Musical. Oh and her speech was really hilarious :3

Adele winning for Skyfall
ADELE WON FOR SKYFAALLL. She was utterly adorable and funneh and always. On a side-note I still find it hard to believe that Carly Rae Jespen is 4 years older than Adele. Whoa.
Big Bang Theory should've won Best Comedy :/ I haven't seen Girls but it can't beat the BBT awesomeness. BOTH DAMIAN LEWIS AND CLAIRE DANES WON :'D And so did Maggie Smith :3 So that's good

That's it for this post. Let me finish watching Les Miserables. A post on Argo coming aswell :D
